Cyber/information safety and security.

IT major INFOSYS a few days ago released an artificial intelligence program to automate the helpdesk.  Artificial intelligence in today's world is growing extraordinarily fast. According to many researchers, the fourth wave of AI is AI and robotics. But there is a key thing we need to look out for in the future of AI and cyber technology: SAFETY. Safety is the most important factor in AI. The next war is not going to be with guns and other weaponry but may be bioweapons or using AI with the help of hackers ( in the case of AI).In the future, AI and information technology have the power to weaken a person or a group significantly. When I write this essay a popular case of hacking comes to my mind. It happened a few months ago, hackers hacked the twitter accounts of celebrities such as Warren Buffet, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk and asked their followers to donate money for a noble cause. Twitter immediately solved this problem. AI and information even if it is extremely helpful in many ways it, it also has a negative side. Apps ask us for permissions to access our data, Most of the times without reading what permission it is asking we agree. This is very bad of us as we ourselves have given access to hackers to hack us. Artificial intelligence and information technology saves our data in cloud servers. Hackers can easily hack into these cloud servers and access our data. If hackers access our data they can hack into the data of your contacts and this cycle would continue. A few days ago I saw a presentation by a 13-year-old boy, Reuben Paul in the annual Linux foundation meet on the subject HACKING IS A CHILD'S PLAY. He hacked a teddy bear, a toy car and a drone, thus proving hacking could be done by anyone from anywhere in a wireless device. There could be many ways through which hackers can hack your data, but users also have many ways through which we could ensure our data is secure :

ONE:-  MAKE SURE YOUR INTERNET SERVICE AND BROWSER IS SAFE.

This may sound silly as nowadays all internet connections and browser firewalls are safe and most of the times there is much additional software and apps to protect data. All I am asking is to verify it is safe.

TWO:- TRY TO GO TO SECURE WEBSITE AND APPS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

This is very essential to make sure your data is secure. Many-a-times we go to insecure website and apps by clicking ads or through other ways.

THREE:- DON'T SHARE YOUR BANK CREDENTIALS.

This is the most important way to ensure your banking data is secure. Sometimes we get messages saying a person is from a bank and we need to share our bank passwords. DON'T FALL IN THIS TRAP, bank authorities would never ask for your bank credentials.

FOUR:- READ COOKIES POLICY BEFORE AGREEING.

When we got to websites we sometimes notice websites asking to agree to the cookies policy to ensure great user experiences. Make sure you read the policy to ensure they do not ask to access their personal data if they ask, do not agree.

MAKE SURE THESE FOUR RULES ARE USED TO ENSURE  SAFE AND SECURE DATA.

REMEMBER IT IS YOUR DATA AND IF A HACKER GAINS ACCESS TO YOUR DATA THEY HAVE THE POWER TO EXPLOIT YOU.
